27.03.2011, Warszawa

The last race of the Polish Senior Cross‑Country Skiing Cup, which started on Wednesday in Szklarska Poręba–Jakuszyce, was the relay competition. Justyna Kowalczyk joined her colleagues and together they won the gold medal.

Ladies competed in a 4x5 km race. The AZS AWF Katowice team, composed of Justyna Kowalczyk and Natalia Grzebisz, who took the first two turns in the classical style, Agnieszka Szymańczak and Justyna Mordarska, who skied third and fourth in the skate‑skiing technique, finished as much as 4 minutes and 8.3 seconds ahead of the second team of LKS Poroniec.

For Justyna Kowalczyk, the relay race was the penultimate run in the 2010/2011 season. Now, our contestant will take a several‑days’ rest before her last competition – a ski marathon in mid‑April on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Justyna Kowalczyk will spend three weeks there at a regeneration camp, but she decided to participate in the race for pleasure.

In the Polish championships, which ended on Sunday, Justyna Kowalczyk won three gold medals, two individually and one in a team.
