Person of the Year
On Wednesday evening, Justyna Kowalczyk was awarded the title of the Person of the Year at the gala organized by the Wprost weekly in Warsaw. Apart from the best Polish skier, the title was also awarded to Henryka Krzywonos.
The chapter of the Wprost-organized contest had no doubts that both ladies deserved the award for their admirable and exemplary attitude.
Justyna Kowalczyk admits that she considers the title to be a great honour.
- I was already twice chosen the Sportsperson of the Year, but I have never been the Person of the Year. This is an incredible honour for me, the more so since I highly value the Wprost weekly, said Justyna Kowalczyk.
The title of the Wprost Person of the Year has been awarded since 1991. The title has been awarded to persons who in a given year “created and changed the Polish reality”. This year’s justification reads as follows: “We wanted to award the title to persons representing the values which should not only be recognised but also affirmed in Poland.”
The newest Wprost issue includes an extensive interview with Justyna Kowalczyk.
